Putting a pen to paper sounds so basic…but hear me out!
Towards the end of last year, I was working out what I wanted 2022 to look like and realized that I needed to stay super accountable when it came to my time and what I was committing to.
To keep track of my days in the past, I tried jotting down lists and also briefly attempted going a more digital route but nothing quite clicked.
Feeling overwhelmed, I decided to go back to basics and committed to a paper planner format and it’s already made a big impact. I lean on it for keeping track of calls, projects and everything going on within the business.
Here’s the thing with planners that I didn’t know — before now, I just assumed they were all pretty much the same. But after doing more research, I discovered the perfect setup, a disc system. Basically, you buy a pack of 8 round discs, the exact covers and inserts you prefer and snap them together to create your own book!
Everything in my setup above is from Cloth & Paper. I have been in heaven with this format because my planner is fully customized to have EVERYTHING I want (lots of room to write, fun visual stuff like dashboards with images on them) and zero filler.
Here’s the thing: a planner might not seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things but I’ve realized that all the big stuff I want to do builds up from a firm foundation. Once those basics are snapped into place, everything else feels much less daunting. -Shauna
